My Recommendations of TV Shows & Series!

Let me share the best and the most watched TV series out there! Oh no, I am going to share the TV series or what most call it as TV shows out there.

Unlike in the early days, our generation is going through a rough time selecting the TV shows to watch, all thanks to Netflix!
Netflix has a wide range of TV shows but let me share you the list I love.

I’ve practically watched these shows over & over again. One main reason why I love them is because it has the same enthusiasm towards the end of the show as much as it did on the show’s pilot episode.
Let me list the top 5 first. Just a heads-up – these TV shows are ranked the highest watched with top ratings ever!

Check out my list below!

1. Big Bang Theory

WITHOUT a doubt, this series is the best of all!! I have watched this show on repeat & no other show can top this!
The Big Bang Theory is not a nerd show & you definitely doesn’t have to know all these science gimmicks to understand what they are speaking about.

It’s a simple story covering the lives of four socially awkward friends, Leonard, Sheldon, Howard and Raj, where Leonard makes it complicated when he has eyes on this beautiful and free-spirited Penny.

Plus, Sheldon making every episode more complicated with his sarcasm (which he finds out later in the series)

Don’t you feel like watching the entire series in just one go, looking at this trailer?
For everyone who has watched the show, image if Penny didn’t move into the apartment at first or if Leonard was gay? (Haha that will kill the series though)

My favorite character: SHELDON COOPER (played by Jim Parson)! Yes, that’s right. I love the nerd! Mainly because he is funny in ways it can’t be explained! He doesn’t understand his level of sarcasm, but we do! Its crazy to see Sheldon doing all silly things when we know that’s how nerds are actually (no disgrace to them). Despite his regular seating capabilities with his favorite seat, I loved his ‘fun with flags’ episodes.

Fact: In 2007, Jim Parsons, then an almost unknown actor, took this photo after getting super excited to see his face plastered on an advertising poster for the first time.

All main characters: Leonard Hofstadter, Sheldon Cooper, Penny Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz, Raj Koothrappali

My favorite episode: Well, have a look!

I watched the follow-up series, ‘Young Sheldon” which is not bad either!

2. Friends

Genre: Sitcoms, TV Comedies, US TV Shows

When you see or hear Central Perk, you definitely would know what show that is. The funniest TV show I’ve ever seen following the lives of six reckless adults living in Manhattan, as they indulge in adventures which make their lives both troublesome and happening.

My favorite character: Chandler <- It took me almost a minute to think about it. I love Joey & Phoebe, but Chandler Muriel Bing’s character played by Matthew Perry helped me get over some tough times, with his limitless sarcasm! Plus, I love the fact he always finds something funny in almost everything!!

All main characters: Ross Geller, Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Phoebe Buff
My favorite episode: The entire series is my favorite but I am in love with S06 E24& E25, where Chandler proposes to Monica!
All series and episodes: Friends has 10 seasons with 236 episodes with an episode that’s 22-23 minutes long
Available on Netflix: Click Here
IMDB link: Click Here
Did you know: every episode of friends has “The One _____” in the title? Apparently, Warner Bros in the grand tradition of most American sitcoms, Friends’ very first episode was known as the simple and rather boring ‘The Pilot’. However, by the time it hit the DVD market, its name had been changed to ‘The One Where Monica Gets a Roommate’.

3. The Last Ship

Genre: Post-apocalyptic; Action drama

The Last Ship TV Series came into demand recently with the Covid-19 Viral Flu. Adapted with the novel written by William Brinkley, with a viral flu that has gone out of control, the crew inside the US Navy missile destroyer is on the track to find a cure for a global viral pandemic that has wiped out over 80% of the world’s population.

Filled with action & strategy, Captain Tom Chandler plays a vital role in making things work.

Tom Chandler played by Eric Dane plays the role of Captain Tom Chandler as the captain of the ship USS Nathan James. I love the way how he takes the role into real life & the way how he strategizes and plans out all his next moves.

This trailer itself will give you excitement just to watch the entire series in one go!
Plus, there is so much you can learn from Tom Chandler. His discipline, leadership skills, ability to take control under stress & so much more!

My favorite character: Captain Tom Chandler – without a doubt, he shows limitless leadership qualities that a ships’ captain should have. He is my all-time favorite actor in a TV show.
My favorite episode: Season 2, episode 12 was my favorite! It was a nail bitter seeing the captain sinking that annoying submarine!

4.Gotham

Like I’ve mentioned in ‘About Me’  page, I am a few billions away from becoming the Batman!

This story highlights the story before Batman came into play, circling around the life of Detective James Gordan, The Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot) & The Riddler (Edward Nygma). Even though the role of Bruce Wayne is played on side note, the show is highlighting the love story between The Penguin & The Riddler & of course every episode highlights the life of James Gordon.

Also, the role of Joker, simply put Jerome Valeska reminds us mainly of Heath Ledger (The Joker in The Dark Knight 2008), he has tried so hard to get the voice and the actions as of the Joker played by Heath. But nevertheless, Heath can’t be replaced!

My favorite character: The Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot). Yes, it surprises me too, but honestly, I love the character of the Penguin, played by Robin Lord Taylor. Specially how he is taking the character in to life & how he maintains the character in the entire series.
Robin Lord Taylor keeps a bottle cap in his shoe to remind him that every step his character takes causes him pain. Just uncomfortable enough to give Lord Taylor cause to limp, the method is committed without being too debilitating or causing permanent harm – thank goodness.

My favorite episode: Episode 15, 1st Series, where the Riddler meets the Penguin. Wish if I can just be there when they actually shot that scene

Did you know: in the original Batman franchise, Detective James Gordon has a mustache. But in Gotham’s 1st 4 seasons, he doesn’t. Since the story isn’t really about Batman, even though the producers tried really hard to make it so during the first season, James Gordon’s life at Gotham made it interesting.
Something a bit for feisty is that James Gordon played by Ben McKenzie married Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) in the TV show Gotham as well as in real life! ?

5. Breaking Bad

Been the second highest rated TV show in IMDB is not easy. Breaking Bad had no issue in becoming the best show ever. Of course, its safe to say, “Yeah, Science Bit*h”

Walter White a.k.a Heisenberg who is a chemistry teacher, discovers that he has cancer and decides to get into the meth-making business to repay his medical debts & to save money for his kid and wife. His priorities begin to change when he partners with Jesse & discover that he has potential to grow!

Bryan Cranston playing the role of Walter White & Aaron Paul playing the role of Jesse Pinkman has taken the show to a whole new level where you feel as if you’re actually living in the show. It gets interesting when Walt’s brother in law, who is a DEA agent starts following the tracks of Heisenberg, later to discover he is after his own brother in law!

Who better to explain about Breaking Bad TV show, rather than from the best co-role himself, Jesse Pinkman! Have a look at this video!

If you didn’t like the end, well, you are lucky! There is a follow-up movie that you SHOULD watch! The move ‘El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie’ is about the fugitive Jesse Pinkman running from his captors, the law, and his past.

In summary, the TV Shows I would recommend:

1. The Big Bang Theory
2. Friends
3. The Last Ship
4. Gotham
5. Breaking Bad

The rest of the shows I love are How I met your mother (Oh I loved every episode & I’m sure no one has ever replayed those episodes like I have. I love the quotes and the story behind it. Specially how the entire story is turned around at the last episode’s last few minutes.

When you speak about TV shows, Squid Games cannot be easily dropped out. Squid games is this thriller kind of a series which later inspired many other series and movies. It’s a story about hundreds of cash-strapped contestants accept an invitation to compete in children’s games for a tempting prize, but the stakes are deadly.

Let me know your thoughts! Would love to find out other interesting TV shows out there!
